Your projects deserve the best!

That’s why I offer 100% ethical baby alpaca yarn in a beautiful shade of silver grey, sourced directly from British alpaca breeders! 🦙🦙🦙

The result is a luxurious yarn that’s exceptionally warm, yet lightweight and breathable. It’s fast and smooth to work with, and with a perfect twist and a great loft, it handles a whole variety of knitting and crochet patterns with ease. Moreover, it’s natural, strong and hypoallergenic.

The yarn is available in convenient 25 g and 50 g balls for small and larger projects.

Baby alpaca is one of the softest and finest classifications of alpaca, and you will definitely enjoy the luxurious feel of this yarn against your skin. The softness is irresistible. Excellent for items that are worn close to you – scarves, vests, legwarmers, pullovers, and even mittens.

Made from 4 threads of superfine alpaca, its fibres are untreated, which means they are only washed and not exposed to any chemical treatment, making them great for children’s products.

Perfect gift for a crafter or a lover of alpacas and their beautiful fibre.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

THE PROCESS

It takes a full year for our alpacas to grow enough fleece to be sheared. When the fleece is sheared alpaca breeders pop it in a table and skirt the edges, alpaca breeders then grade the fibre and only use the finest to be sent off for turning into yarn.

Once at a mill, the fleece is gently tumbled, then washed before being dried and then carded before starting the spinning process.

Please keep in mind that the whole process requires a lot of dedication, time, knowledge and money.

CARE INSTRUCTION

This is NOT a superwash yarn so it needs love and care when washing, ideally hand wash gently (to avoid felting) in lukewarm water and dry flat.

COLOUR AWARENESS

Please keep in mind that colour perception can depend on your monitor. I do my best to show the shades as realistically as possible.

  1. Hazel Reaper

I had Silver Lining and Charcoal Spark included with my order. I can’t believe how soft and velvety the balls are. I think there will be more of these coming my way soon. xx
