TECHNIQUE & FINDINGS
To create this bangle I used a technique known as thread wrapping.
A piece of wire inside a braid makes the bangle flexible but keeps the shape so you can adjust it to your wrist.
Each bangle is finished with caps and has an extension chain (4.5 cm).
– BABY ALPACA yarn (100%)
– cotton cord
– stainless steel
Surgical stainless steel has a hypoallergic formula & is not the same as alpaca or cheap metal. Unlike silver or gold, it does not require maintenance, cleaning and care, so you can enjoy its beauty and gloss without much effort. The surface is resistant to oxidation and corrosion. The components don’t start to smell or tarnish after time.
All bangles are packed in a cotton pouch, tissue paper and eco-friendly craft box.
Alpaca fibre is one of the most ethical products currently available that is completely eco-friendly and cruelty-free at the same time.
👉 Alpacas are not killed to get their fleece which is needed to be cut in order to avoid health risks (mainly overheating).
👉 Shearing usually takes around five to ten minutes per animal. Keep in mind that the sourced fleece is just a luxury addition to a necessary process!
Make a conscious choice!
Nobody can guarantee that alpacas are treated with respect at all farms.
That is why it is so important to check the source of the fleece and yarn.
Here at Alpacappella Jewellery, I source fibre from friendly farms (mainly British and American) which care for the health, safety and comfort of their animals. More information->
