TECHNIQUE & FINDINGS
To make the bangle I used a traditional Japanese braiding technique called Kumihimo (“gathered threads”). It’s a time-consuming technique but the results that can be achieved through it are stunning. A piece of wire inside a braid makes the bangle flexible but keeps the shape so you can adjust it to your wrist.
Each bangle is finished with surgical steel caps, a lobster and an extension chain (4.5 cm).
Surgical stainless steel has a hypoallergic formula. Surgical steel is not the same as alpaca or cheap metal. Unlike silver or gold, it does not require maintenance, cleaning and care, so you can enjoy its beauty and gloss without much effort. The surface is resistant to oxidation and corrosion. The components don’t start to smell or tarnish after time!
The bangle will arrive in one of my pouches. All the materials I use for packaging are environmentally friendly and recycled, from the acid-free tissue paper to the unbleached postal box it arrives in.
