TECHNIQUE & FINDINGS

To make the earrings I used a Japanese braiding technique called kumihimo (“gathered threads”). It’s the time-consuming technique but results that can be achieved through it are stunning. A piece of wire inside a braid makes the pendant flexible but keeps the shape.

The balls are needle felted (a dry felting technique). It is also a time-consuming technique, but it does not require the use of detergents, and the alpaca fleece retains its natural character. Even after felting, the balls are still very soft! I also value needle felting for the possibility of obtaining flexible and yet durable shapes.

SURGICAL STEEL

Surgical stainless steel has a hypoallergic formula and it’s not the same as alpaca or cheap metal!

PACKAGING

The earrings are packed in an eco-friendly craft box with jute inside. Perfect for a gift for the loved one.
